CICHY NAMED TO US UNDER-18 TEAM
KEARNEY - The Tri-City Storm of the United States Hockey League learned on Thursday that forward Mike Cichy, who was the team's top pick in the USHL draft and is on the team's 2007-08 protected list, has been named to the United States Under-18 Select team.
Cichy and his teammates will compete in the 2007 Under-18 tournament being held August 14-18 in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
Cichy made the roster with a strong showing at the USA Hockey Select 17 development camp held in early July. He posted a camp-high five goals and finished with 11 points.
STORM ADDS VARGAS TO 2007-08 PROTECTED LIST
KEARNEY - The Tri-City Storm of the United States Hockey League announced on Thursday that forward Brennan Vargas has been added to the team's protected list for the 2007-08 season.
Vargas, a native of Coon Rapids, Minn., was acquired by the Storm in a trade with the Indiana Ice for a third round pick in the 2008 USHL draft.
