Green Bay Gamblers News Release
Green Bay (July 19, 2007) - The Green Bay Gamblers Hockey Club is in need of families to house players for the upcoming season. Families throughout the Green Bay area are needed and will be considered, but there is a special need for Ashwaubenon families to house players who will be students at Ashwaubenon High School. The Gamblers' roster of 23 players will include 7 high school seniors this upcoming season.
Housing parents will receive a monthly stipend to help cover room and board costs and will also get complimentary season tickets.
The players arrive in early September and are in Green Bay until mid to late April. At Christmas, the players are given a one week break when they can go home to be with their families. The housing families are not required to provide the player with transportation.
All players live with local families in the Green Bay area. The players range from the ages of 17-20, but a majority of them are 18 and 19. Because these are teenagers who are a long way from home, it is essential to provide them with a stable environment during their time in Green Bay. It is our organization's commitment to the players and their families that we provide them with a good home.
The Gamblers have team guidelines and policies that the players must follow while with our organization. We also ask our housing families to enforce these team rules. The team will do everything possible to make sure this experience is a rewarding one for both the player and the housing family.
