Suns Drop Sixth Straight Road Game, 9-2

East Lake, OH: The Hagerstown Suns were defeated by the Lake County Captains 9-2 on Tuesday night from Classic Park. The Suns dropped all six games on the road trip to start the second half.

Jeanmar Gomez (7-6) got the start for the Captains (5-1, 36-40) and pitched well. He went 5 innings, allowing just one run on three hits. Jhonny Nunez (1-6) started for the Suns (0-6, 29-44) and was hit hard. Nunez went 5 innings, yielding four runs on six hits. The Captains got a first inning run off the bat of Nick Weglarz and they never relinquished the lead. The Suns did cut the lead from 2-0, to 2-1 with a two-out HR by Leonard Davis in the 4th inning, but that was it. The Suns only mustered seven hits, on two runs. The Suns on the road trip scored a total of 12 runs. Davis had a great road trip for the Suns going 8-18 with 5 RBI.

Davis on Tuesday went 3-4 to up his average to .278. Francisco Plasencia added a double and a walk. The Suns have not won since June 16th and have now lost a season high seven games in a row.

The Suns will enjoy an off day on Wednesday and will return home for a nine game home stand on Thursday, June 28th, first pitch is scheduled for 7:05PM at Municipal Stadium.
