Tulsa Drillers News Release
The Tulsa Drillers will host the Springfield Cardinals (St. Louis Cardinals) in a four-game series at Drillers that runs from Thursday, April 19 through Sunday, April 22.
It will be the first meetings of the 2007 season for the North Division rivals, and it will be the second homestand for the Drillers Stadium. Tulsa went 3-3 against San Antonio and Corpus Christi in its season-opening homestand.
The first three games of the series against the Cardinals will begin at 7:05PM, while the series finale on Sunday will have a starting time of 2:05PM.
The promotions schedule will include Country Night/Thirsty Thursday on April 19 and Drillers Fleece Blankets on Friday, April 20. The year's first Fireworks Show will follow the game on Saturday, April 21. The game on Sunday, April 22 will be highlighted by a pre-game youth clinic with the Drillers players. It will also be a Kids Eat Free Sunday, and the first 1,000 kids will receive Drillers Mesh Toy bins.
A complete listing of promotions is below.
Tickets for all games in the homestand, and any other game this season, are now available 24 hours a day, seven days a week over the Internet at TulsaDrillers.com. Tickets are also available in person at the Drillers Stadium Ticket Office or over the telephone by calling (918) 744-5901.
NOTES: The Drillers are hoping for better weather when they host the Cardinals. The five games of the opening homestand had a game time temperature average of only 48 degrees. The average does not include the opening night that was eventually snowed out after only three innings. . . . .The cool temperatures affected the offensive numbers. The Drillers hit only .251 with two home runs during their first six home games. . . . .Tulsa pitcher Greg Reynolds, enjoyed a successful first homestand. Counting the three innings of the opener that were eventually snowed out, Reynolds faced only 31 batters in ten innings of work, only one hitter over the minimum. The right-hander is in only his first full season of professional baseball after being the second player selected in last June's amateur draft. . . . .Outfielders Joe Gaetti and Matt Miller accounted for much of Tulsa' offense during the first homestand. Gaetti hit .368 with one home run and five runs batted in, while Miller hit .350 with four runs batted in. . . . . Drillers Stadium will host the annual Bedlam Baseball Battle between the Oklahoma State Cowboys and the Oklahoma Sooners on Friday, May 4. Tickets are still available through the Drillers Stadium Ticket Office and at TULSADRILLERS.COM.
