Arkansas Rivercatz News Release

PINE BLUFF -- The state's two newest American Basketball Association (ABA) franchises, the Arkansas RiverCatz and Arkansas Aeros, will open their exhibition season against each other at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24th on the RiverCatz' home floor of the Pine Bluff Convention Center.

The exhibition contest will feature several former Arkansas Razorback standouts, including Todd Day of the Aeros, and Kareem Reid, who signed Thursday with the RiverCatz.

Admission for the contest is $2 or two non-perishable canned goods with all gate proceeds going to Neighbor-to-Neighbor food bank in Pine Bluff.

"One of the main goals this preseason is get our talent on the floor and see what they can do against each other," said general manager Keith Newton. "Not only will we be able to accomplish this, but we'll be able to help some of the needy in Pine Bluff. It is very important to us to be a strong partner in the community."

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
