Worcester Sharks News Release

WORCESTER - The Worcester Sharks, proud new members of the American Hockey League, announced today the release of their strategic media partnerships. Team President Michael T. Lehr made the announcement.

The major television partnership is with Charter Communications, WCTR-3. The new television affiliate will be showing a package of Sharks home games on Channel 3.

The major print partnership is with the Telegram and Gazette. The Telegram and Gazette has been bringing the news to the residents in Worcester County since 1866 and the Worcester Sharks are happy to have the opportunity to work closely with a newspaper firm with so much history and tradition.

The major radio partnership for the Worcester Sharks is WTAG 580AM. The partnership will bring 80 regular season Sharks games to listeners of WTAG by "Voice of the Worcester Sharks," Jamie Smock. Smock has been a professional hockey play-by-play announcer for 10 years.

"These three media partners give the Worcester Sharks the best possible way to inform the public of our business, community, and hockey news," said Lehr. "We are proud to call these media outlets our partners and hope to continue to build on our strong relationships for years to come."

On Saturday, October 14, the Worcester Sharks will dive into the DCU Center in Worcester for the first home game of their inaugural season against the Portland Pirates. Full and half season ticket packages as well as 10-game and Flex packs at affordable prices are still available for purchase. Please call the Worcester Sharks office at 508.929.0500 for more information.
