
Braves lose to Wings in 10

Richmond, VA - The Rochester Red Wings beat the Richmond Braves 7-6 in 10 innings at The Diamond Wednesday. The Wings beat the Braves in extra innings for the second straight night.
The Wings grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first on an RBI double by Garrett Jones. Rochester made it 3-0 in the second on a bases loaded walk to Luis Maza and a Jason Bartlett sacrifice fly. Luis Hernandez knocked in a run in the home half to cut the Wings lead to 3-1. The Braves moved to within a run in the third on an RBI single by Carlos Mendez. The Wings erupted for three in the fifth to open up a 6-2 advantage. Bartlett doubled a run home. Terry Tiffee chased a run in with a fielder's choice, and Maza singled a run in. Richmond bounced back with three in the home half. Carlos Mendez, Michael Ryan, and Luis Hernandez all had RBI doubles to shave Rochester's lead to 6-5. The Braves tied the game on a throwing error in the sixth. In the 10th Josh Rabe homered to put Rochester in front to stay.
The Braves pounded a season high 16 hits. Ryan, Scott Thorman, and Cesar Crespo all had three hits. Rabe, Maza, and Chris Heintz had two hits for the Wings. Kevin Cameron was the winning pitcher. Chad Paronto took the loss.
The Braves and Red Wings meet again at The Diamond Thursday at 7 PM. Brian O'Connor will pitch for the Braves against Boof Bonser.
