Player Of The Game: Knights third baseman Angel Gonzalez went 4-for-6 with two doubles and three RBI, leading Charlotte to the win.
Game Recap: The Knights got off to a quick start scoring four runs on four hits in the top of the second inning off of Lynx starter Brian Burres. The Lynx responded in the bottom half of the inning when CF Esix Snead singled up the middle to score 1B Alejandro Freire and LF Eddy Garabito to make the score 4-2. Both teams would exchange single runs in the third inning, with the Lynx scoring on Andy Tracy's RBI single, as the score sat at 5-3. The two teams exchanged two-run rallies in the fourth, with the Knights chasing Burres and the Lynx getting a two-run homer from Esix Snead, his first of the year. With the score 7-5 Knights, Charlotte blew the game open in the top of the fifth. The Knights would score five runs on seven hits including back-to-back-to-back RBI doubles by Andy Gonzalez, Ernie Young and Casey Rogowski to go ahead 12-5. Both teams would be held off the scoreboard the rest of the way, in a 12-5 Lynx loss. Lynx starter LHP Brian Burres would go three innings allowing seven runs (six earned) on eight hits taking the loss. RHP Knights pitcher Tim Redding earned his second win of the season, giving up five runs on 10 hits in 5.0 innings.
