TODAY'S GAME: The second of a two game series and the fifth of eight meetings here. The ninth of 16 meetings. The Braves are 2-6 vs. the Tides, 1-3 at home. This is the seventh of 13 straight home games for the Braves (0-6). Richmond was 5-0 vs. the Tides at The Diamond last season. The Braves are 7-13 vs. the South Division, 3-7 at The Diamond. The Braves are fourth in the South, 20 games behind the first place Tides. Richmond has lost a club record 10 straight games and 12 of their last 13. The Tides have beaten the Braves five straight times. The Braves are 348-394 all-time vs. the Tides.

YESTERDAY'S GAME: The Tides beat the Braves 8-7 Saturday night at The Diamond. The Tides rallied twice to overcome Richmond leads and send the Braves down to a club record 10th straight loss. The Tides grabbed a 2-0 lead in the first on an RBI double by Benito Santiago and a Ron Calloway sac fly. James Jurries whacked a home run in the bottom half for the Braves. Richmond moved in front with a four run second inning. Scott Pratt doubled two home. Starting pitcher Ken Ray chased a run home with a single, and the Braves scored on an error. The Tides came right back to tie the game with a three run third. Rodney Nye had a two-run single and Eric Valent singled a run home. Jurries second home run of the game in the fifth made it 6-5 Richmond. In the sixth Angel Pagan tied the game with an RBI triple and Anderson Hernandez' single scored Pagan to put the Tides in front 7-6. Pratt homered in the bottom half to tie the game at seven. The Tides scored the winning run in the seventh on a walk, a stolen base, a ground out, and a passed ball. Tides starter Jae Seo picked up the win. Macay McBride took the loss. Manny Aybar earned a save. Jurries, Pratt, and Ray had two hits each for the Braves. Chase Lambin had two hits for the Tides

TIME FOR A BREAK: The Braves take three days off for the All Star Break following today's game. Braves catcher Brayan Pena will play for the International League in the Triple-A All Star Game Wednesday in Sacramento. Braves manager Pat Kelly is part of the IL coaching staff. Braves pitcher Anthony Lerew is on the Team USA roster for the Futures Game today in Detroit. R-Braves alumni John Smoltz and Andrew Jones will play in the MLB All Star Game Tuesday in Detroit.

BY THE NUMBERS: The Braves broke the club record for consecutive losses set in 1969 and tied in 1986. The Braves snapped a 19 inning scoreless streak yesterday. The Braves are last in the IL in batting average, runs, home runs, strikeouts, and walks issued. Esix Snead leads the IL in stolen bases. Recent R-Braves acquisition Kerry Robinson still leads the PCL in steals with 26. The Braves have been outscored 55-18 on the homestand. Braves starting pitchers have allowed 24 runs in the last four games over 11 innings (19.63 ERA). Braves starters had allowed three or fewer runs in 15 of the previous 20 games. The Braves have made 82 roster moves this season and lost 214 man-games to the disabled list. Nine Braves have earned big league call-ups this season and five are currently with Atlanta (Andy Marte, Roman Colon, Kyle Davies, Kelly Johnson, and John Foster). The other four big league call-ups were Frank Brooks, Matt Childers, Seth Greisinger, and Brayan Pena. Jorge Vasquez went from Double-A to Atlanta before joining Richmond. Nine Braves have been placed on the DL this season. Richmond has a better winning percentage on the road (.346) than at home (.286).
