
Braves Beat Tourists

Rome, GA â The Rome Braves made it five in a row tonight by beating the Asheville Tourists 7-1 at State Mutual Stadium in front of 5,037 fans.
Mark Jurich started things off for the Braves by hitting a solo home run in the bottom of the second, while Keith Eichas singled and later scored on an Ivan Terrazas double giving the Braves a 2-0 lead. In the top of the fourth inning Neil Wilson scored the Tourists' lone run by slapping a solo home run to right cutting the Braves lead in half 2-1.
Not to be outdone the Braves extended their lead 4-1 in the fourth when Mark Jurich doubled and later trotted in on a Keith Eichas two run homer. The Braves finished out the scoring by adding three more runs making the final score 7-1.
Rome Braves starter Matt Harrison (5-2) picked up the win tonight. He went seven innings, striking out seven and giving up just one run. The loser was the Tourists Larry Robles (0-1).
