On Wednesday, Tom Lawson made 28 saves for his first shutout of the season as Hershey beat Albany, 3-0Â… Fredrik Sjostrom had three points, including the game-winning goal with 4:12 left, to lead Utah past Chicago, 4-3Â… On Thursday, Lee GorenÂ’s hat trick paced Manitoba to a 4-1 win over CincinnatiÂ… Ryan Miller made 40 saves as Rochester beat Houston, 3-2.

LOOKING AHEAD:
Manchester looks to continue its dazzling start with three games this weekend, including a home-and-home against Providence and a clash with HartfordÂ… The Monarchs come into the weekend with 11 straight wins and an 18-1-0-0 record, and leading the league in both offense and defense, outscoring the opposition by a whopping 89-33 marginÂ… Yanick Lehoux, the AHLÂ’s leading scorer with 33 points, and Brad Smyth are each riding nine-game scoring streaksÂ… Manchester players occupy five of the top 10 spots in the AHL scoring race and 10 of the top 20 in plus/minus rating, led by defenseman Joe Rullier at plus-21Â… Tom Kostopoulos has already scored five game-winning goals this seasonÂ… Mathieu Garon has won 12 of his 13 decisions this year, posting a league-high four shutouts as well.

The top two teams in the West Division collide on Friday when Milwaukee hosts Grand Rapids for the clubs' first meeting of the seasonÂ… The Admirals are 13-2-2-1, while the Griffins are 13-5-1-0, including a perfect 6-0-0-0 on the roadÂ… Niklas Kronwall continues to lead Grand Rapids with 19 points this season, including three goals and five assists in his last eight gamesÂ… Joey MacDonald ranks third in the league with 11 wins and seventh with his 1.89 GAAÂ… Simon Gamache (3g, 10a), Vern Fiddler (4g, 7a) and Andrew Hutchinson (2g, 8a) have been hot for the Admirals over the last seven gamesÂ… Milwaukee is 11-for-44 on the power play (25.0%) at home this season; Grand Rapids is 11-for-41 (26.8%) on the road.

Saturday at the Wachovia Center, first-place Philadelphia takes on second-place Norfolk in an East Division battleÂ… The Phantoms have won 18 of their last 19 overall and are 12-0-0-0 on home ice this seasonÂ… R.J. Umberger was the Reebok AHL Rookie of the Month for November, with eight goals and 14 points in 14 gamesÂ… The Admirals are in the midst of an eight-game road trip that will wrap up in Wilkes-Barre on Sunday and MondayÂ… Michael Leighton, coming off a shutout of Bridgeport on Wednesday, is 1-1-1 with a 0.98 GAA in his last three starts for Norfolk.
