Thunder take two of three on road

THUNDER STEAL TOPEKA'S TURKEY- Trailing 1-0, the Thunder scored four unanswered goals, and hung for a 5-3 win at Topeka on Thanksgiving Eve. Brad Patterson led the Thunder with a Natural Hat Trick, while Ryan McLean added a pair of goals. Goaltender Jamie Vandespyker made 31 saves in recording his seventh victory of the season.

BIG SECOND LEADS THUNDER OVER EAGLES- The Thunder exploded for four second period goals, en route to a 5-4 win at Colorado on Friday. Ryan McLean again picked up two goals, while Joe Blaznek, Derek Parker and Les Hrapchak also scored. Rookie Jason Flick recorded the victory as the Thunder extended their road-winning streak to a franchise-record eight in a row.

COLORADO GETS REVENGE- The second period belonged to Colorado this time, as they scored four goals, en route to a 6-2 win over the Thunder on Saturday. Rookie Mike Carter scored both goals for the Thunder.

THUNDER ROAD STREAK FINALLY ENDS- With Saturday's loss at Colorado, the Thunder became the last team in the CHL to lose on the road this season, ending their streak at seven in a row. Dating back to last season, the Thunder won eight straight regular season road games, breaking the previous franchise record of six. At 12-3-0, the Thunder ended the first quarter of the season with the best record in the CHL and have equaled the best start in franchise history. The 1995 CHL Champion Thunder team also started the season 12-3-0.

CLAYTON'S STREAK FINALLY ENDS TOO- Saturday's loss also saw veteran Travis Clayton's scoring streak come to an end at 14 games. Clayton had been the only player in the CHL to score a point in every game this season. Clayton ranks second in the CHL with 17 assists and is tied for the CHL-lead with four game-winning goals. Clayton and veteran Jason Duda are tied for seventh in the CHL, with 23 points each.

WRESTLER MICK FOLEY TO DON THUNDER BLUE THIS SATURDAY- Three-time WWE Champion Wrestler Mick Foley "AKA Mankind" will throw on a Thunder jersey and sign autographs at Saturday's game versus Amarillo. Fans can bring their own cameras or have Polaroids taken with Foley to get autographed. The Thunder will also have Foley pictures available, courtesy of UPN Kansas and Hooters, for $5 each.

THUNDERBOLTS- Rookie Mike Carter is riding a five-game scoring streak...Jason Flick ranks third among CHL goaltenders in both goals against average (1.79) and save percentage (.930)...Defenseman Paul Esdale is third among all CHL defensemen, with 13 points...The Thunder rank second in the CHL on the power play, at 20.8% and have yet to allow a shorthanded goal...The Thunder are the only team in the CHL yet to play an overtime/shootout game...The Thunder are 3-0-0 when trailing after the first period...Derek Parker leads the CHL with 125 penalty minutes...Parker will be the guest on the Thunder TV Coach's Show, taped tonight at 5:00 PM at BG Bolton's, 21st and Maize Road.
