Colorado Eagles News Release

WINDSOR, CO – Colorado Eagles right wing Greg Pankewicz picked up the Oakley Player of the Week for week six of the 2004-05 season, the Central Hockey League announced today.

Pankewicz had four goals and five assists in three games during the week. In Colorado's 3-0 victory over Odessa, Pankewicz netted the game-winning goal on a power play, his third power play goal of the season. Then the team's leading scorer had four-points in each game versus the league-leading Wichita Thunder. On Friday night, in a 5-4 loss to the Thunder, Pankewicz figured in on all the scoring tallying a goal and three assists. On Saturday, he notched the Eagles first two goals in 2:02, and added two more assists in the Eagles 6-2 victory.

The Drayton Valley, Alberta native has played in only eight games this season and has registered a point in all eight games averaging a remarkable three points per contest (10-14-24). He might as well be called "Mr. November," last season en route to his player of the month award, Pankewicz tallied 33 points (13-20-33) in 13 games played. This November, he is even better tallying 21 points on seven goals and 12 assists in just seven games. Only Chad Woolard (12-11-23) and Martin Paquet (10-14-24) of Fort Worth have more points in November, although they have each played four more games than Pankewicz.

The Eagles take on the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs on Wednesday, December 1 and Friday, December 3, and end their six-game home stand when the Lubbock Cotton Kings come to the BEC on Saturday, December 4.
