
Z's shut out by Memphis

September 3, 2006 - The host New Orleans Zephyrs were shut out by the Memphis Redbirds on Sunday 5-0.
Starting pitcher Chris Narveson (8-5) gets the win for Memphis after giving up only four hits in seven innings.
Right fielder Brian Martin and shortstop Brendan Ryan both had two RBI apiece to lead the Redbirds to victory offensively.
Starter Anastacio Martinez (5-11) gave up three runs on nine hits in six innings, taking the loss.
Shortstop Josh Labandeira was the most effective Zephyrs player offensively, going 2-4 - the only player with more than one hit.
With the series now at 2-1 in favor of the Zephyrs, the teams will play the final game of the series and season on Monday. It's a 2:00 PM CT start on Labor Day. The Zephyrs (71-71) will attempt to finish the season with a winning record for the first time since 2002.
