Ziegler Named Batter of the Month

WICHITA, KS- The American Association of Professional Baseball announced that C.J. Ziegler has been named the league's Batter of the Month for the month of June.

Ziegler hit .347 with 12 home runs, 31 RBI, and 20 walks in 26 games played last month. The 26-year-old first baseman had three multi-homer games, as well as six contests with three or more RBI. Ziegler cracked 11 home runs during a 19-game stretch from June 6th-June 26th. On June 2nd versus Grand Prairie, Ziegler hit a 10th-inning, game-ending solo home run to lift Wichita to its 10th consecutive win. Earlier this season, Ziegler assembled a 17-game hitting streak in which he was 27 for 73 (.370).

Ziegler was hitting .331 with 13 home runs and 44 RBI in 39 games for the Wingnuts before signing with the Mexican League's Tabasco Olmecs last week. Ziegler was leading the American Association in home runs and RBI at the time of his departure.
