
Zephyrs defeat RedHawks

New Orleans Baby Cakes News Release
The New Orleans Zephyrs defeated the visiting Oklahoma RedHawks by a score of 2-1 on Friday.
Zephyrs left fielder Tyrell Godwin drove in the winning run in the eighth inning when his double to center field one-hopped the wall. Godwin went 2-3 in the game including the RBI.
Reliever Danny Rueckel (1-0) gets his first win as a Zephyr. Rueckel went two hitless innings for New Orleans before giving way to Roy Corcoran, who picked up his sixth save of the year. Corcoran gave up one hit but no runs in the final inning.
Relief pitcher Kevin Jiminez (3-2) gets the loss after giving up the Godwin RBI. Jiminez threw one inning.
The win gets the Zephyrs out to a 1-0 lead in the series. The teams will meet again on Saturday in a game scheduled for 6:00 PM CT.
