Sacramento River Cats News Release
West Sacramento, Calif. - The Sacramento River Cats defeated the Salt Lake Bees, 4-2, on Friday night in the series opener between the two teams at Raley Field. The win marks their second consecutive win for the Cats, bouncing back from a 3-game losing streak. Salt Lake scored first, capitalizing on an error in the top of the first, but the Cats took a 2-1 lead in the bottom half of the 4th inning, scoring 2 on a Jason Perry double to right field. When the Bees tied the game, 2-2, in the top of the 7th inning, the Cats answered with a run each in the 7th and 8th innings giving Sacramento a 2-run lead and, eventually, the victory. Perry led the Sacramento offense, going 3-for-4 with 2 RBI and 2 doubles. Starter Shane Komine earned his 5th win of the season, giving up 4 hits, 2 runs (1 earned), 1 home run, 1 walk and struck out a career high (and team season high) 11 batters.
