Youth Basketball Teams take Center Court
July 29, 2005 - Continental Basketball Association 1 (CBA 1)
Rockford Lightning News Release
The Rockford Lightning is giving future all-stars a chance to take their "A-Game" to Wayne Timpe Court this season. Before selected home game, the Bolts are letting a boys or girls youth basketball league run the court, play a full game, and feel what it is like to be under the lights with their fans cheering them on. As a prize, all the players will receive free admission to that night's game.
The event is a great way for teams to raise funds for new uniforms, buy basketballs, or to raise money for tournaments. The Lightning will sell a block of tickets to the group at a reduced price and the kids can sell the tickets at full price. The kids can play their game and everybody is a winner.
"It is great to see the looks on the faces of the kids when they first step out onto the court." Said Lightning GM Michael Neville. "Playing on the big floor is something that the kids will remember the rest of their lives."
The Continental Basketball Association season is right around the corner, with Rockford's home opener slated for Sunday, Nov. 20 versus Gary. Do not miss out on this unique opportunity.
If you know a team that is interested in participating, further information can be obtained by calling Derek Hatfield at the Lightning Office at 815-874-4232. Any questions concerning this press release or any other Lightning matter can be answered by calling the Lightning office at 815-874-4232.
