ODESSA, TX. After a eight hard months of recruiting...and eight grueling days of training camp, Odessa Roughnecks Head Coach Chris Williams has made his choice of 25 players (as required by the NIFL) that will follow him into the 2005 season. "My entire coaching staff and I are excited to see our hard work pay off. Finding the athletes that meet our standards of skill and character involves a lot of time getting to know them, work them, and test their limits. We've started that process in training camp and will be going full force now until our first game," stated Williams. The roster includes a few returning players (highlighted in bold), many of whom were recently released from Arena Football League (AFL) teams or AFL2 teams. Only 22 will dress each game day with a practice squad of five additional players working to earn a spot and back up the dressed roster.
