The Montgomery Maulers will be in good hands as HealthSouth will provide the team's athletic trainers for the inaugural 2005 season. Christina Espinoza will serve as the Head Athletic Trainer, Miranda Culpepper will be the Assistant Athletic Trainer, and Kim Burton will serve as the Team Athletic Trainer.

Espinoza, who works as the sports medicine coordinator for HealthSouth Rehab in Montgomery, has 12 years of athletic training experience. A former head football trainer at Alabama State, Espinoza earned her degree at Southwest Texas State and has also attended Troy University.

Culpepper has four years of athletic training experience in several sports including football, softball, volleyball and basketball. She has an athletic training degree from Troy University.

Burton is the current head athletic trainer at Faulkner University. She has ten years of athletic training experience, including service with NFL-Europe and the NBDL, the NBA's developmental basketball league. Burton has a physical education degree from Alabama State and is now pursuing a master's degree in sports management at the U.S. Sports Academy.

The Maulers announced last month that Baptist Health would serve as the team's official healthcare provider and that several Baptist Health partners were also sponsoring the team. In addition to HealthSouth's support, SportsFirst is providing club memberships while Southern Orthopedic Surgeons (SOS) is providing the team doctors. The team doctors will be Dr. Michael Freeman and Dr. Stephen Samelson.

An expansion franchise in the National Indoor Football League (NIFL), the Montgomery Maulers offer seven nights of hard-hitting, high-scoring, "edge of your seat" excitement at historic Garrett Coliseum. The Maulers play their first-ever game on March 19 at Kissimmee, FL. The first home game is Saturday, April 2 against the SW Louisiana Swashbucklers. Season tickets start at $49 and are available by calling (334) 277-1881, visiting the Maulers' office at Eastdale Mall, or logging on to www.montgomerymaulers.com.
