JUPITER, FL - The Miami Marlins' top prospect, Christian Yelich was placed on the 7-day disabled list yesterday, retroactive to May 31. Yelich sustained a concussion in a game in Port Charlotte against the Stone Crabs on the 30th .

This will be Yelich's second stint on the disabled list this season. He began the year on the 7-day DL after sustaining an elbow contusion from a teammate losing control of his bat while Yelich was in the on-deck circle before the conclusion of Spring Training. The concussion came when Yelich took a knee to the helmet from the Stone Crabs third baseman while sliding head-first into the bag after connecting on a triple. Yelich was removed from the game for a pinch runner.

On Friday, Yelich was named to the Florida State League All-Star team. His 19 walks, 11 stolen bases and 11 doubles lead the Hammerheads, and his 29 runs scored and seven homers are good for second on the team. Yelich, who is hitting .276, was named the FSL Player of the Week for April 16-22.
