
Yard Goats 3B Josh Fuentes Named Eastern League Player of Month for August

The Hartford Yard Goats have been informed by the Eastern League that 3B Josh Fuentes was named Eastern League Player of the Month for August. The California native batted .487 (38-for-78) with 10 doubles, three home runs, 16 RBIs, 11 runs scored, a .500 on-base percentage, and a .731 slugging percentage in 19 games during the month. The 24-year old had at least one hit in 16 of the 19 games he played in during the month and had multiple hits in 15 of those games, including hitting a pair of homers and driving in all four runs for the Yard Goats in a 4-3 win over the visiting Trenton Thunder on August 10th.
He raised his batting average 72 points in the second half, going from .235 at the All-Star break to where he finished at .307 which ranked T-2nd in EL and led club. He also tied for the EL lead with 7 triples.
Fuentes was recently named the Third Baseman on the Eastern League Season Ending All-Star Team.
