Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz News Release
OKLAHOMA CITY-The Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz lead the way on the postseason arenafootball2 team, claiming six spots on the National Conference first or second team.
Offensive specialist Jarrail Jackson and kicker A.J. Haglund were named to the first team. Jackson also earned second team honors on special teams. He has plenty of company on the second team joined by teammates, quarterback Craig Strickland, wide receiver/defensive back Al Hunt, and defensive lineman Barrett Allen.
Jackson was one of the league's top all around offensive threats. He led af2 in all purpose yards averaging 191.6 yards a game. He was third in receptions with 125, and fifth in reception yards (1,541) and reception touchdowns (37). He also was a dangerous kick returner, running back 68 kicks for 1,349 yards and two touchdowns.
Haglund topped the league charts in several kicking categories. Haglund set a new league accuracy mark connecting on 93.5 percent of his point after attempts, hitting on 116-of 124 kicks. He also made 10 field goals and led all kickers in scoring with 146 points.
Strickland, one on the most prolific quarterbacks in af2 history had another banner season in 2006. He ranked third with 98 touchdown passes, while completing 315 passes for 4,029 yards.
Hunt teamed with Jackson to be perhaps the league's most dangerous pass catching duo. He pulled in 34 touchdown catches, giving the Yard Dawgz two of the top seven receivers in that category. Hunt had a total of 85 catches for 1,278 yards, 79.9 yards a game and 15 yards per catch.
