Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz News Release

OKLAHOMA CITY- The Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz (7-3) will play their first non-divisional foe in a month when they host the Bakersfield Blitz (7-3) Saturday at the Ford Center at 7 p.m. But even though they are venturing outside the Midwest Division, it doesn't mean it's not an important game for the Yard Dawgz.

With both teams holding a winning percentage of .700, the match-up features two of the top teams in af2. It also pits the league's second highest scoring offense, the Yard Dawgz (58.7 points a game) against the league's second stingiest defense in Bakersfield (39.8 points a game).

"It's always interesting whenever you're playing a team for the first time. They obviously are a very solid football team and we'll have to be ready for a huge battle," Yard Dawgz coach Jeff Jarnigan said.

The festival like atmosphere will begin well before kickoff as the Christian based musical group Mainstay will perform in concert inside the Ford Center concourse beginning at 5:30 p.m. Characters from the hit animation series Veggie Tales will also be on hand during the game.

For more information contact the Yard Dawgz at 405.228.3294 or visit the team at www.okcyarddawgz.com.
