Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz News Release
Saturday, May 24th, the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz travel to Rio Grande Valley to take on the Dorados. The road hasn't been kind to the Dawgz this season and has contributed to 4 of their 5 losses.
Oklahoma City improved to 2-5 with a 62-56 win over the Iowa Barnstormers last Saturday. The Yard Dawgz offense scored an impressive 62 points against the Barnstormers, the most the team has scored in a game this season. During the contest, DB Travis Seaton intercepted two passes, one for a touchdown. WR Keaton Graham pulled in 6 receptions for 129 yards and 3 TDs, including a touchdown in the final minute of the game. WR Al Hunt continues to deliver impressive numbers. Earlier this season, the af2 veteran became the 5th person in af2 history to score 900 career points. Currently, Hunt has 924 points and leads Oklahoma City in receptions (38), receiving yards (547) and receiving TDs (10).
Rio Grande Valley's QB, Travis Cole, is second in the league with 1,871 total offensive yards and third with 42 offensive TDs. DB Pierre Thomas leads the league with 49 tackles and leads Rio Grande Valley with 5 interceptions. Despite their record, the Dorados have the fourth best offense in the league (278.9 yds/game) and have allowed only 5 sacks, second best in the league.
