
Florida Firecats Remain Fourth in Week Nine Coaches Poll

Estero, FL- The Florida Firecats received 340 points to remain fourth in the Week Nine Coaches Poll, the arenafootball2 (af2) league office announced today. The Firecats (6-1) finished in the fourth spot for the second consecutive week despite falling for the first time in 2008 at South Division rival Tennessee Valley last Saturday.
By securing 437 out of a possible 448 points, the defending ArenaCup champion Tulsa Talons maintained the top spot in the poll for the ninth consecutive week. The Talons (8-0) continued their perfect start to the 2008 season by holding off the Manchester Wolves 59-56 in Manchester, NH Friday night. The Spokane Shock (7-0) maintained their grip on the number two spot for a eighth straight week after earning a 59-56 home win over West Division rival Tri-Cities last week. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (7-1), Florida and Lubbock (5-2) rounded out the top five.
Each week during the season, af2 coaches vote for the Top 16 teams in the league by ranking them one through 16. The complete Top 16 is listed below. The number in parentheses indicates the number of first place votes the team received.
