Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz News Release

OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz (4-4) slid out of the top ten to #11 this week in the af2 Coaches Poll. The Dawgz fall comes after Oklahoma City lost on the road to the Corpus Christi Sharks (2-6), 65-62. This week the Dawgz return to Oklahoma City for their first home game in almost a month to face off against in-state and Central Division archrival Tulsa Talons (7-1). The Dawgz hope to drop the #3 ranked Talons and even the season series.

In last weeks loss, Dawgz WR Al Hunt became arenafootball2's all-time leader in career touchdowns with 195 TDs. He is also the leagues all-time career scoring leader with 1,188 points. DE Aaron Chavers surpassed former Yard Dawg Barrett Allen as the franchise's all-time career sack leader with 13.5 sacks. Newly acquired WR Craig Fulton Jr. also stepped up in the kick return game, averaging 32 yards per return and totaled 371 all purpose yards.

Saturday's game against the Talons will be a big test for the Dawgz. The Talons boast af2 top five rankings in both scoring offense and defense. With a win, the Dawgz could find solid footing above the .500 mark as well as a new outlook on the remainder of the season. A win would also end the month on a positive note, as the Dawgz have been plagued by losses throughout May.

"We must have our best effort of the year if we plan on staying in playoff contention." said Head Coach Sparky McEwen.

The Yard Dawgz square off against Central Division archrival Tulsa Talons on Saturday, May 30th at the Cox Convention Center. Yard Dawgz Flex Packs are now on sale starting at just $50! Yard Dawgz single game tickets are on sale, starting at only $10! The Yard Dawgz Block Party begins every home game at 5:00 PM on Reno. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
