Yard Dawgz Begin Training Camp

OKLAHOMA CITY-Saturday, March 15th, marked the beginning of training camp for the 2008 Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz and their hunt for the 2008 ArenaCup.

Teams are allowed to enter training camp with 37 players, including two international players, but must cut to 30 by March 21st. The final roster of 22 (19 active; 3 inactive) will be announced on March 29th.

Head Coach Gary Reasons brought back 7 players from the 2007 squad, who made their 4th consecutive playoff appearance and had the second best offense in the league. Among the returners are receivers Al Hunt and Danny Howard, who together collected 2,532 yards and 47 TDs in 2007 and OL/DL Barry Giles, who was part of a line that allowed only 13 sacks.

New players include QB Evan Gray (University of Missouri - Rolla), WR Jason Carter (University of Oklahoma), OL/DL Alonzo Mayes (Oklahoma State University) WR and Romar Crenshaw (Southeastern Oklahoma State University).

"We are excited about this group of players," said Head Coach Gary Reasons. "They have all come into camp with the mindset of winning a championship and that is the goal we have in front of us."
