Hartford, CT- Mets top prospect Luisangel Acuna hit two home runs and scored three times as the Binghamton Rumble Ponies defeated the Hartford Yard Goats 9-2 on Wednesday night at Dunkin' Park. The infielder led off the game with a homer and then struck again in the fourth inning with another solo shot. Yard Goats outfielder Yanquiel Fernandez cranked a solo home run, his seventh since joining the Yard Goats, and added a double and scored both Hartford runs.

Luisangel Acuna led off the game with a home run off Hartford starter Mike Ruff. The right hander then retired seven of the next eight batters before Acuna came up with a one-out single in the third to start a rally. The Rumble Ponies scored six runs in the inning highlighted by a three-run homer by Kevin Parada and two-run single by Mateo Gil.

Acuna led off the fourth inning with a home run to give Binghamton an 8-0 lead. Yanquiel Fernandez gave the Yard Goats their first run of the game with a solo home run in the bottom of the inning to make it 8-1. The Yard Goats added a run in the sixth inning on three hits including a double by Fernandez and RBI by Grant Lavigne.

Rumble Ponies reliever Luis Moreno came into the game in the third inning, and worked six solid innings for the win. He surrendered just two runs on nine hits and had three strikeouts.

The Yard Goats continue a 13-game homestand on Thursday with a doubleheader (5:00 PM) against the New York Mets affiliate, the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. The game will be broadcast on AM 1410, FM 100.9 and on the iheart radio app.
