Jupiter Hammerheads News Release

JUPITER, FL - The Tampa Yankees scored three times in the seventh and added two more in the eighth as they earned a come from behind 6-4 win over the Hammerheads on Friday.

With the Sharks leading 3-1 in the top of the seventh, the Yankees rallied off of Brad Mincey. Anderson Feliz started things when he hit a single up the middle and Danny Oh followed when he slapped a double just inside the bag down the third base line. Aaron Judge would then reach on a chopper to short as Feliz scored to make it 3-2.

Greg Bird would then tie the game when he singled to center as Oh came around to score. Dante Bichette Jr. would then give the Yanks a lead they wouldn't relinquish when he drove home Judge with a single.

Tampa would add to its lead in the eighth when Feliz hit a two-run home run to right-center to make it 6-3.

The Sharks would get a run back in the bottom of the eighth when Viosergy Rosa smashed a solo homer.

After a ground out Justin Bohn and Jesus Solorzano hit back-to-back singles but the Yankees turned a terrific 6-4-3 double play on a ball hit by Blake Barber when the shortstop Cito Culver went to his left and shovel passed the ball to Jose Rosario at second to start the twin killing.

That would be the last scoring chance the Hammerheads would have in the game as they went down in order in the ninth.

Jupiter did the majority of its scoring on the night in the fifth inning after the Yankees had jumped out to a 1-0 lead. After Jesus Solorzano reached on a throwing error, Blake Barber pulled a ball down the left field line. When the ball bounced around in the corner, Solorazno scored as Barber slid in with a triple.

Anthony Gomez would then place a perfect bunt down the first base line as Barber scored and Gomez beat the first baseman to the bag for a single.

Chad Wallach would later walk with the bases loaded to make it 3-1.

Jupiter starter Trevor Williams continued a stretch of great starting pitching by the Sharks as he allowed just one run in five innings. He would end up with a no decision.

The Hammerheads and Yankees will continue their series on Saturday night. It will be the fourth annual Baseball and Brews event at Roger Dean Stadium. Tickets are $27 at the door and the beer tasting begins at 5:30 p.m. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
