Yablonski Agrees to Terms

BRIDGEPORT, CONN (July 21, 2010) - The New York Islanders announced today that they have agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way (NHL/AHL) contract with Jeremy Yablonski.

Yablonski, 30, spent his last three seasons with the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League, totaling 17 points (five goals, 12 assists) and 571 penalty minutes in 167 games. The Meadow Lake, SK., native will enter his ninth professional season in 2010-11.

"We are very excited to add Jeremy to our organization," Islanders General Manger Garth Snow said. "He adds leadership, size and an intimidating toughness factor to our lineup."

Yablonski, a 6'1, 235 pound winger, has played in 266 career AHL games for the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks, Worcester IceCats, Milwaukee Admirals and Binghamton, totaling 24 points (9 goals, 15 assists) and 891 penalty minutes. In 81 career ECHL games with Peoria and Idaho, he totaled 12 points (4 goals, 8 assists) and 404 penalty minutes. Yablonski made his NHL debut with the St. Louis Blues on December 30, 2003 and recorded a fighting major in seven minutes of action.
