
Worcester Sharks Re-Sign Forward Cory Quirk

WORCESTER - Worcester Sharks General Manager Wayne Thomas announced today that the team has re-signed forward Cory Quirk to a one-year American Hockey League contract. In keeping with club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Quirk, 24, played 59 games with Worcester last season, compiling 21 points (8 goals, 13 assists) and 14 penalty minutes in his first professional season. He also added three points (2 goals, 1 assist) and two penalty minutes in 11 Calder Cup playoff games.
The five-foot-ten, 180-pound forward played collegiate hockey at UMass-Amherst recording 103 points (43 goals, 60 assists) and 76 penalty minutes in 150 games.
"Cory had a terrific rookie campaign with the Worcester Sharks," said Thomas. "Cory was an important piece to our Atlantic Division regular season title and we are glad to have him back in the fold for the upcoming season."
The Brockton, Massachusetts native, earned four letters at Catholic Memorial (Mass.) winning three state championships and was named the Catholic Conference MVP his senior year.
