Sioux City Explorers News Release

We are in need of generous families willing to open their homes for Explorers players for the 2010 season. Each year, our Host Families play an important role in the success of the entire organization. It takes a special family to open their home to our ballplayers. The rewards of watching the newest member of your family work towards and realize his dream makes being a host family an incredible and worthwhile experience.

A Host Family welcomes a player into their home prior to the start of spring training (April 30th), the regular season (August 29th), and through potential playoffs (September15th ). We do not require families to provide transportation for their player; this is the obligation of the player and or one of his team members that live close to his host family. Although families are not obligated to provide meals, generous families willing to do so are highly sought after as well (and are always welcome!). Each potential Host Family will be required to supply information regarding their living situation. Information such as number and ages of family members, number and types of pets, location of residence This information is used to ensure a compatible match exists between player and family.

Although Host Families are not compensated financially for their hospitality, each Host Family will receive up to four (4) season tickets for all Sioux City Explorers home games on the 2010 schedule. We encourage families to take full advantage of their tickets and come out to support your player during every home game. Host Families are also compensated with the joy they receive from helping a young man realize his dream. Through this unique experience, you also receive the rare opportunity to witness the daily struggles and rewards of being a professional baseball player.

The entire Sioux City Explorers organization is appreciative of our past, current, and future host families. The commitment these unique families make is never overlooked and the X's staff is committed to support host families in any way possible.
