Pittsburgh Xplosion News Release
TOLEDO, OHIO, Jan. 21, 2006 -- The visiting Pittsburgh Xplosion defeated the Toledo Ice 112-99 on Saturday night for their eighth win in the past nine games. Guard Coleco Buie led the Xplosion with 26 points and forward Janerio Spurlock added 24 for the Xplosion, who improved their ABA record to 13-8. Issac Jefferson chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds for Pittsburgh, Jason Benson scored 15 and point guard Wayne Copeland dished out 8 assists for the Xplosion, who continue their road trip Sunday night with a game against the Indiana Alley Cats, the ABA's top team.
Guard Jamel Staten led Toledo with 26 points and center Levy Jones added 19 points and 7 rebounds. The Xplosion jumped out to a 32-19 lead after the first quarter and never trailed in the game. Buie's strong performannce capped an outstanding week in which he scored 96 points in three games, including a team record 50 against the Kentucky Colonels on Sunday, Jan. 15.
