ABA professional basketball returns to the Mississippi Delta when Greenville's Mississippi Stingers host the Birmingham Magicians at the Washington Convention Center on Monday, Jan 30th at 7pm. The rejuvenated Mississippi Stingers, now under the leadership of Chairman of the Board, Rev. Ronald V. Myers, Sr., M.D. hope tmake a lasting impact by building a strong organization to support Mississippi's only ABA basketball team.
"Mississippi Delta native and former NBA great, Head Coach Sam Lacey, and General Manager John Matthews, Jr., invite you all to come to our 2006 home opener and support the Mississippi Stingers," states Myers, also Chairman of the National Juneteenth Observance Foundation and the National Juneteenth Holiday Campaign. "We know that ABA basketball will be a great attraction once again to the Mississippi Delta."
