Pittsburgh Xplosion News Release
PITTSBURGH, February 1, 2008 - The Pittsburgh Xplosion returned home from a 10-game, 18-day road trip with a 158-110 victory over the Atlanta Krunk tonight at the Petersen Events Center.
The 158 points set a season high for the Xplosion. Pittsburgh scored 133 in a win over Great Falls last month. Helping the cause were three new members: Lincoln Glass (16 points), Darnell Miller (13 points and 16 assists), and John Strickland (four points and three rebounds).
While Xplosion fans got their first look at three new members of the team, it was an old face that led the offensive attack. Robert Morris product Chaz McCrommon led the team with 41 points on 15-of-20 shooting.
Pittsburgh jumped ahead early with the help of 18 Atlanta first-half turnovers, leading to many easy fast-break points for the Xplosion. Pittsburgh took a 73-47 lead into the intermission.
With this 7-0 quarter point sweep, the Xplosion have now recorded six on the season. The CBA record for quarter point sweeps is eight, set by the 2002-2003 Dakota Wizards.
Pittsburgh will host Atlanta once again Monday night at the Petersen Events Center at 7:05 PM. For more information, visit the team's official Web site at www.pittsburghxplosion.com.
