Walls, Miss.—The 4th graders at Walls Elementary got a special end of the year treat when Xplorers players Ryan Karr and Jon Tekac visited their classroom on Wednesday.

The players brought a book to the class entitled "Stand Tall, Molly Lou Melon" to read to the students. The story is about Molly Lou, a little girl who is the smallest in her family, and the advice her grandmother gives her about life. After the players took turns reading different sections of the book, the students had an opportunity to ask questions.

A student asked," Did you play football in the 4th grade?"

"We both started playing when we were in the 3rd grade and it was a lot of fun," Karr said.

One student wanted to know if they had ever been scared of the other team's players.

"We don't really get scared, but you always have that thought of knowing you will be getting hit," Tekac said.

"I know how that feels, I play football too," said student Jeremy Roberts, 10.

J.D. Tidwell wanted to know the best thing about playing football. Fellow student Justin Judkins jumped in.

"I know! It's when you make a touchdown," Judkins said. Both Karr and Tekac agreed that making a touchdown feels pretty great.

Another student asked if it hurt when the players got tackled.

"Yes, it does hurt," Karr said. "Sometimes I even have to call my mom back home," he said, laughing. Tekac added that he has even seen grown men cry after they have been tackled.

At the end of the question and answer session, one student asked the players what their advice would be for someone that wanted to someday play professional football.

"First, just get on a team and have fun," Tekac said. "Be sure to listen to your coach and enjoy yourself. If you don't have fun and are not enjoying yourself, it is something you will not give 100 percent to."

The Xplorers donated the book "Stand Tall, Molly Lou Melon" to the Walls Elementary Library as a thank you for inviting the players to visit their classrooms.
