FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons have re-signed right winger John Wroblewski for the upcoming 2005-2006 season.

The University of Notre Dame graduate returns to Fresno for his third season in a Falcons uniform and looks to build upon last year, when he scored a career-high 13 goals despite missing 15 games due to injury. During his rookie campaign in 2003-04, Wroblewski became just the fourth player in team history to play every game of a 72-game schedule on his way to recording 24 points (9g-15a).

"It's good to come back to a familiar place. I felt like I reached a real comfort zone last year, especially in the second half when I started having some success offensively," said Wroblewski. "Usually, I'm excited to see an off-season and just take a break from hockey. But at the end of last season, I was immediately fired up for this one to begin. I've been working hard to keep in shape, and I can't wait to get to Fresno and get everything started."

"John plays with integrity by showing up and playing hard every night. He's a fan favorite and the type of character guy we need in our line-up," said Falcons head coach and general manager Matt Thomas. "He's building off a career high in goals last season, and with his great speed and the new rule changes that are coming, John should really give our offense some punch."

Wroblewski is the eighth player under contract for the upcoming season, joining fellow forwards Fraser Clair, Brett Hammond and Scott Rozendal, defensemen Cory Murphy, Matt O'Dette and Dustin VanBallegooie, and goaltender Brett Jaeger.

Falcons season tickets are currently available for the 2005-06 ECHL campaign, beginning with the club's season opener on Oct. 21 against the Victoria Salmon Kings at Save Mart Center. Both full season packages (36 games) and 24-game packages include seats to the 2006 Bud Light ECHL All-Star Game and Skills Competition to be held at Save Mart Center on Jan. 24 and 25.
