Stockton Thunder News Release

STOCKTON, Calif. - Just over a week after introducing Stockton hockey fans to the first player in franchise history, defenseman Dave McCulloch and left winger Mike Lalonde join goaltender Jake Moreland on the Thunder's inaugural season roster.

McCulloch comes to Stockton after spending the 2004-2005 season in the ECHL playing for the Gwinnett Gladiators and the Louisiana IceGators. He is a native of Lacombe, Alberta and played four years at Harvard University before turning professional. McCulloch scored a total of 15 points and posted 89 penalty minutes in his first ECHL season.

Lalonde, a Chetwynd, British Columbia native, played four years at Michigan State University tallying 102 points in 156 career games for the Spartans. He was signed at the end of the 2004-2005 season by the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL, where he played the final five games of the season.

The two young additions are a good fit for the aggressive, gritty team that Head Coach Chris Cichocki is building for his first season in Stockton. "Mike (Lalonde) comes highly recommended not only for his skill level, but also for his tenacity all over the ice," Cichocki said. "Dave (McCulloch) is a rock solid D-man who plays with intensity and desire every shift."

Season tickets for the upcoming Thunder season are on sale now. As of early August, the team has sold over 1,700 season tickets for the 2005-2006 inaugural season.
