Wranglers Sign Fifth Player
August 12, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Waco Wranglers News Release
Waco, TX. The ABA Waco Wranglers announced the signing of David Stevens at a press conference held at the Murray Watson Jr. Student Recreation Center at Texas State Technical College Waco. Stevens is the fifth player signed by the Wranglers.
The 6'6 power forward played for Southwest Missouri State before transferring to West Plains in Missouri. Stevens then transferred to Tarleton State where he was voted both All American Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year in 2004. Stevens recently returned to the United States after playing professional basketball in Germany.
"We have a lot of room for improvement, but I think we'll be a good team," said Stevens. "As long as we stay together and work hard as a family, we'll be alright."
"David is a strong and very smart player," Coach Toni said. "He is a true team player but doesn't hesitate to throw it down with force when the opportunity is there. The fans will love him."
