South Alabama Bounce News Release

Mobile, AL. The ABA So. Alabama Bounce professional basketball team named LaShun McDaniel as General Manager/Head Coach. According to Victor Calhoun, owner, "When we heard that Shawn was available, we got on the telephone and called right away. He's the guy we wanted. A top quality person, a great coach with tremendous professional experience in the US and internationally. We're excited."

McDaniel was former coach of the ABA Beijing Aoshen Olympians, a team that completed its first season very successfully with an outstanding record and a team that has made a great impact for the ABA throughout the world. The team has just returned from a successful European trip.

"I want to thank the So. Alabama Bounce organization, the Calhouns and the City of Mobile for selecting me for this wonderful opportunity," stated McDaniel. "My family and I are excited to be coming aboard and working with a first class organization with professionalism and integrity. After finishing my contract with Beijing Aoshen, my first task will be to bring an exciting atmosphere of putting together a dominant basketball team. After finishing 21-13 last season and one game from going to the final eight in Rochester (a 2 point loss), I want to put together a strong team to be able to make the finals this year."

Tryout dates will be announced shortly and also introductions of Assistant Coaches. Now - its time to get to work and get ready for the ABA 2006-2007 season. For more information, email lashunmcdaniel@hotmail.com, call 909 481 4854 or visit www.ababouncebasketball@yahoo.com or www.abalive.com.
