Wranglers Calm Thunder With 3-2 Win

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers edged the Stockton Thunder 3-2 on Tuesday night in front of 3,391 fans at the Orleans Arena. Forward Bruce Mulherin scored twice, including the game-winning goal early in the second period. Right wing Peter Ferraro also added a goal as the Wranglers won their 16th regular season game in a row. Defenseman Jason Josza assisted on both Las Vegas goals. Goalie John Curry improved to 3-0-0 on the season, stopping 25 of 27 Stockton shots. Las Vegas will play in Victoria at 7:00 pm on Friday and Saturday.

In the first period, Las Vegas took a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal by Peter Ferraro. Stockton countered with a power-play goal before the end of the period, tying the game 1-1. Thunder forward Luke Fulghum netted his first goal of the season with 48-seconds remaining in the opening period.

Las Vegas pushed the lead to 3-1 in the second period as winger Bruce Mulherin struck twice. The Wranglers winger scored a power-play goal off a rebound, his first of the night, giving Las Vegas a 2-1 lead at 4:04. Just 2:29 later, Mulherin pushed the Las Vegas lead to two goals with his second of the night.

In the third period, Stockton's Jesse Bennefield scored a power-play goal to trim the Las Vegas lead to 3-2 with 5:04 remaining in the game.

The Wranglers will travel to Victoria for games on Friday and Saturday, then return home on Friday, November 2nd to host Utah at the Orleans Arena at 7:05 pm.

The Wranglers play all 36 home games at the Orleans Arena, located at the Orleans Hotel and Casino at 4500 W. Tropicana Avenue. Las Vegas will host Opening Night on Sunday, October 21st at 7:05 pm at the Orleans Arena.
