Worcester Sharks Home Opener Set For Saturday

WORCESTER, MA- Worcester Sharks President and CEO Michael T. Lehr has announced today the special events surrounding the Worcester Sharks 2008-09 season home opener at the DCU Center in Worcester on Saturday, October 18th at 7:05p.m. vs. the Providence Bruins. It is also expected that NHL veteran and former Boston Bruins defenseman, Kyle McLaren will make his home debut on Saturday.
The first 3,000 fans will receive a FINZ All-Star bobblehead and a magnet schedule compliments of Charter Communications. Arrive early, as the popular U2 cover band, Joshua Tree, will take the stage in the arena for a 6:10 p.m. pregame concert.
Midstate youth hockey will be on-ice welcoming the 2008-09 Worcester Sharks during a special presentation as the Sharks announce their opening night roster.
The puck is set to drop at 7:05 p.m. against the Sharks rivals, the Providence Bruins and former Boston Bruin defenseman, Kyle McLaren is expected to make his DCU Center debut in a Worcester Sharks uniform!
The Sharks are fully reloaded this season, and look forward to make the Calder Cup playoffs for the second time in franchise history.
After the game, make the short drive to the Boston Billiard Club of Worcester on Grove Street for the official postgame after party as Joshua Tree will perform live!
Bobbleheads, live entertainment, autographed collector's cards, poster schedule, post-game skate, specialty jersey auctions, and All-Star festivities will be among the premium promotions available during the Worcester Sharks third season.
