Worcester Bravehearts News Release
Bristol, Connecticut - Worcester Bravehearts starting pitcher Dylan Collett (Saint Leo / Altamont, New York) gave his team exactly what it needed to snap its 10-game losing streak.
The junior southpaw got the win going seven strong innings and allowing only three hits while striking out eight in the Bravehearts 4-0 win over the Bristol Blues on Thursday, June 18 on Muzzy Field in Bristol, Connecticut.
For the second consecutive game, the Bravehearts scored in the first inning. Right fielder Bobby Indeglia (Holy Cross / North Kingston, Rhode Island) led off the game with a double and scored on an RBI single by third baseman Mike Coggeshall (Assumption / Shrewsbury). Coggeshall later scored on a ground out to give Worcester enough insurance for the game. Indeglia finished the game 2-4 at the plate.
Blues starter Steve Wallace (DeSales University / Conshohocton, Pennsylvania) took the loss, as he gave up four runs, three of which were earned, while walking six in 4.2 innings of work.
The Bravehearts added two insurance runs -- one in the second and one in the fourth to cap the scoring for the game.
Worcester reliever Charlie Butler closed out the final two innings by retiring six of the eight batters he faced and giving up only one hit and one walk.
The Bravehearts return home to face the Seacoast Mavericks at 7:05 Friday, June 19 at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field. Tickets for all future Bravehearts games are available at the Hanover Insurance Field box office, online at worcesterbravehearts.com, or by calling 508-438- 3773.
