Anaheim Arsenal News Release
ANAHEIM, Calif., Jan. 11, 2007 - Loren Woods scored 19 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead the Austin Toros to a 104-87 victory over the Arsenal Thursday night in Anaheim. Woods made his second appearance of the year Thursday night after being acquired just five days earlier by the Toros.
Along with Woods, the Toros received a solid contribution from BJ Elder who scored 25 points on 11 of 16 shooting from the floor. Troy Bell chipped in with 17 points and eight rebounds, while James White scored 17.
"We played even in the first half" said Toros head coach Dennis Johnson. "The game was still up for grabs and I told my guys that the team that picks it up will walk away with the win."
Corsley Edwards continues to put up big numbers for the Arsenal as he recorded his 11th consecutive double-double, scoring 24 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. Andre Owens added 14 points.
"Tonight was a tough night for us," said Arsenal head coach Larry Smith. "Our intensity wasn't there. Austin stepped it up and played a great game."
The Arsenal will look to snap their short two-game losing streak as they hit the road for six games beginning on Saturday in Arkansas as they take on the RimRockers.
In addition to single-game tickets, season, mini-plan and group packages are still available. For Arsenal ticket information, please call 714-635-2255 or visit www.anaheimarsenal.com.
