The Chicago Wolves have reassigned center MIKE STATHOPOULOS (STATH-ah-pole-iss) to the Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL. In addition, the Wolves have released center JOE TALBOT and defenseman JUSTIN BROWN.

STATHOPOULOS was held scoreless in the Wolves' preseason loss against the Milwaukee Admirals on Tuesday.

Last year, he shared second among all Canadian collegiate players (Canadian Interuniversity Sport) with 51 points in 28 games for the University of Western Ontario. The 22-year-old forward also ranked third in the CIS with 31 assists and tied for sixth with 20 goals. STATHOPOULOS was named Ontario University Athletics West Rookie of the Year and a CIS Second Team All-Canadian and OUA West First Team All-Star.

The Scarborough, Ontario, native also compiled 78 goals, 180 assists, 258 points and 258 penalty minutes in 255 games with the Ontario Hockey League¹s London Knights.
