Chicago Wolves News Release

The Atlanta Thrashers have assigned forwards MICHAEL FORNEY and MATT SIDDALL to the Gwinnett Gladiators (ECHL). In addition, the Wolves have released defenseman BRENDAN BUCKLEY.

FORNEY and SIDDALL have not appeared in any games with Chicago this season.

Last year, SIDDALL registered one assist and 19 penalty minutes in 20 games with the Wolves during his pro debut. The 25-year-old right wing also racked up 37 points (17G, 20A) and 153 penalty minutes in 40 ECHL contests with Gwinnett.

FORNEY was selected by the Atlanta Thrashers with their third choice, 80th overall, in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft and spent last season with the Green Bay Gamblers (USHL), where the 21-year-old left wing paced that squad with 60 points (24G, 36A) in 59 outings.

BUCKLEY appeared in one game with Chicago this season after being signed to a Professional Tryout Contract on Sept. 21. Last season, the 32-year-old blueliner racked up eight assists, nine points and 92 penalty minutes in 67 games with the American Hockey League's Worcester Sharks last season, and notched three points (G, 2A) and 18 penalty minutes in 10 Calder Cup playoff matchups during Worcester's run to the Atlantic Division Final.

The Wolves return to action when they host the Rockford IceHogs at the Allstate Arena on Wed., Oct. 14, at 7 p.m. For more information, or tickets to the game, call 1-800-THE-WOLVES or visit chicagowolves.com.
