Sudbury Wolves News Release
(Greater Sudbury, ON) The Sudbury Wolves are very excited to announce their partnership with the Sudbury Minor Hockey Association (SMHA) beginning for the 2023-24 season. Wolves Nation is the commitment of Dario Zulich and the Sudbury Wolves of developing and growing grassroots and competitive hockey in the City of Greater Sudbury.
"The Sudbury Wolves are committed to helping grow the game of hockey in Greater Sudbury," said Sudbury Wolves Vice President and General Manager Rob Papineau. "We have a long and outstanding partnership with SDGHA and the Lady Wolves and now having the SMHA teams also wear the Wolves logo is something that we are very excited about and proud of. Giving so many young players the opportunity to be Wolves as part of the Wolves family as well as be part of Wolves Nation is outstanding. The support of the SMHA board and their leadership has been instrumental in allowing our team, coaches, and players to be more involved with the young players and coaches in the community."
"Sudbury Minor Hockey Association is excited and proud to announce a new partnership with the Sudbury Wolves," said Jason Innis, SMHA's President.
"We will be rebranding our entire Rep hockey program to the Wolves for the 2023/24 season. The Sudbury Wolves are one of the most iconic members of the OHL and have been recognized as the #1 brand in the #1 NHL development league in the world. With the Wolves support and resources, along with our new hockey development program, SMHA will provide players the opportunity to get to that next level."
"The Sudbury Wolves are ecstatic to have SMHA back as a strong community partner of the Wolves as we work to help support hockey in the community," said Sudbury Wolves Owner Dario Zulich. "With our new SWSE Play it Forward Corporation, we will be able to help continue to give back to community partners in a number of different ways."
As part of the partnership, the Wolves have made a commitment to provide significant funds, Wolves tickets, fundraising opportunities, academic scholarships and other community initiatives to support SMHA as well as SDGHA.
'Wolves Nation' includes SMHA as well as our continued partnership with the Sudbury Lady Wolves, who also continue to be an exceptional community partner for the hockey club. The Wolves plan to grow this initiative with support for additional minor hockey associations and programs in the community over the coming months.
