Wolves Host IceDogs April 1

(Greater Sudbury, ON) The Pack is Back and ready to run towards the playoffs this Friday night as they host Central Division rival, the Niagara IceDogs at 7:05pm. An important two points are on the line as the Wolves fight to keep their playoff hopes alive.

The Wolves are coming off a huge win last Friday night that saw them defeat the Eastern Conference leading Hamilton Bulldogs by a score of 4-3 in overtime. Some key players rose to the occasion, including Nick DeGrazia who got the Wolves on the board scoring his 21st of the season followed by Alex Pharand netting his 6th of the season and 5th since being acquired by the Wolves. Wolves and OHL rookie leading scorer, David Goyette scored his 28th of the season to win the game in overtime. Mitchell Weeks also had an outstanding game, making 37 saves in the win.

David Goyette continues to lead both the pack and OHL rookies in scoring with 63 points in 58 games, surpassing Quinton Byfield's rookie high of 61 points in 64 games. Evan Konyen and Kocha Delic rank 7th and 11th in OHL rookie scoring with 46 and 43 points respectively.

This Friday, the Wolves host the Niagara IceDogs as the SWSE family celebrates the return of the Sudbury Spartans for the 70th Anniversary Season after their two-year hiatus due to COVID-19. The Wolves will also welcome special guests from the Spartans to drop the puck. Registration opens on Friday visit sudburyspartans.com for more information on registration.

The Wolves will also hit the road this week for two games as they visit the Barrie Colts on Thursday at 7:30pm and Mississauga Steelheads Sunday at 2pm.
