UNCASVILLE, Conn. (November 13th, 2002) â Today the Mohegan Wolves (arenafootball2) announced that Saturday, Dec. 14 will be the date of their first open tryout in preparation for the upcoming 2003 season.
The one-day event will officially be called the "Mohegan Wolves Tee's Plus Tryout Camp" and will be held at the Connecticut Sportsplex in North Branford, Conn. Registration will begin promptly at 6:00 PM on the day of the camp. The tryout will run from 7:00 â 10:00 PM.
Tee's Plus, as the official merchandiser of the Mohegan Wolves, will provide the athletes in attendance with practice apparel for the tryout.
To pre-register for the tryout, please contact Wolves Coach Mark Stoute by email at markstoute@hotmail.com or by calling his home office at 860.298.8541. Space for the camp is limited so it is highly recommended that campers pre-register by contacting Coach Stoute before Friday, Dec. 13.
"Myself and the coaching staff are going to take this camp real serious," Stoute said. "There's a lot of good football players around the tri-state area and we will be looking to see what kind of talent they have. We may just find a diamond in the rough." Today Mohegan also announced that it has partnered with the Connecticut Sportsplex to be the official practice facility of the Wolves. In that capacity, the Sportsplex will house all the Wolves practice sessions leading up to and during the 2003 season. The site will also be the home base for the Wolves coaching staff.
"The Connecticut Sportsplex is a fantastic facility," Stoute said. "I'm really excited and feel very grateful about the partnership. The site is going to be a real recruiting tool for us to attract players. Not only do we have a first-class arena to play in, but we now have a first-class practice facility."
The Connecticut Sportsplex is the largest sporting facility in New England. It is housed on a fifty-acre facility with five outdoor baseball/softball fields, a golf driving range, and a seventy-five thousand square foot artificial turf facility.
Catch the Wolves second season of hard-hitting action at the Mohegan Sun Arena, beginning in April. For information on holiday season ticket specials, please contact the Mohegan Wolves office at 860.443.1900 or visit them on the web at www.moheganwolves.com.
